The Birth of the Self is a 4-star Light Cone that is very interesting for those characters from the Erudition Path who rely heavily on their Follow-Up Attacks, a type of attack that is quite common among characters from this Path (it's practically what characterizes them the most).
It's true that this Light Cone may be a bit guilty of providing too much damage increase for a single aspect (Follow-Up Attacks), but even so, I think it's a Light Cone that is well worth it because, as we've already mentioned, many characters from this path specialize in this type of attack.
However, there are some Erudition characters who don't have Follow-Up Attacks, so you should never equip this Light Cone to those characters.
