"River Flows in Spring" is a 4-star Light Cone designed for characters on the Path of the Hunt, and it comes with some commendable features. However, there is a drawback that, in my opinion, somewhat overshadows its positive aspects.
Let's begin with the positive aspects. Upon entering the battlefield, the character receives a percentage increase in SPD (speed) — a highly valuable stat in Honkai Star Rail — along with a percentage boost to damage. Both of these are excellent stats for any damage-specialized (DPS) character.
Now, onto the downside. The issue with this Light Cone that significantly impacts its performance is that we lose these effects during our next turn if our character takes damage (something challenging to avoid). While we can pair up with Conservation characters to provide shields and prevent this, there's no guarantee of avoiding damage, limiting our sustain options for the team.
It is particularly recommended for Yanqing, as he already gains damage boosts if he avoids taking damage. Consequently, Yanqing players often strive to minimize damage intake by any means possible.
