Imbibitor Lunae is a variant of the character Dan Heng from Honkai Star Rail in which he undergoes a complete transformation, including changes in element, Path, and even his skill kit and gameplay style.
In terms of damage, he surpasses his original version by a significant margin—in fact, in this aspect, he outperforms the vast majority of characters in the game. Imbibitor Lunae's standout feature is the tremendous damage he can deal, although the trade-off is that he consumes a lot of action points. This is partially mitigated by his Ultimate Ability, but not entirely.
To make the most of him, it will be important to play wisely with your action points, and it's also crucial to team him up with characters that don't consume many action points, as they might otherwise interfere with each other.
