Wriothesley is a 5-star Cryo character and the first Catalyst user of this element introduced in Genshin Impact. As is often the case with most male characters in the game wielding a catalyst, this character primarily attacks with their fists.
He serves as a compelling Main DPS character, inflicting Cryo damage with his normal attacks due to his Catalyst usage, showcasing significant damage output. Similar to other Fontaine characters, Wriothesley has mechanics that involve losing health but simultaneously empowering himself, making it advisable to pair him with a healer.
He fits well into various teams as a Main DPS, excelling in each of them, making him a generally recommended character. However, if you already have other highly recommended Cryo DPS characters (such as Ayaka or Ganyu), you might consider skipping him as their performance is comparable.

A fairly standard build that works well for any composition (Freeze, Melt, and Hyperbloom), focusing on maximizing damage output. Since the character naturally loses health and has self-healing abilities, the Marechaussee Hunter set complements this build effectively. However, keep in mind that Elemental Mastery is only useful in Melt teams.
